Round 10
Another crazy day in Wilk. I think by this time we are the crazy ones if we expect the games to not be crazy. Wilk is always throwing up unexpected results. I think this just goes to show how competitive the world is at the D1A level. I am not sure about the other levels, I know things get interesting in the playoffs. Maryland finally fell today to FSU, I said the other day FSU has finally turned a corner and I think they can go all the way to the CC and maybe win it too. The Cornhuskers have found themselves a great coach to replace another great coach. They managed to beat their rivals in Colorado. Would it be a crazy thing to tip them for the CC and maybe NC in the near future. Rutgers just keep rolling and this result will probably be reflected in the Heisman watch. I am not sure what has happened to Wisconsin this season, they have a great coach and they just seem to be having a down year I guess. It is tough to get talent in the mid west and then the conference is filled with coaches who expect to win every game. I bet he will be back next season in full force. Houston and Memphis will play each other in the CC for their conference, they rolled today. Ohio keeps rolling, they are still on track for the 13-1 record promised by the coach. Who will stop USC from winning another CC in the PAC-10? Arkansas almost managed to pull an upset but it was not to be. Troy State continues to roll as expected. Hawaii will continue to rack up them CCs.
Now back to the awards for this week.
Minnesota took Wisconsin to task, with Juan Blackwell leading the charge. 12 tackles, 1 sack and 2 forced fumbles, that is an impressive day at the office and that is why he won the award for this week.
The Hurricanes just dominated the ACC this week, I wonder if this will continue to be the case. Today Rutgers were lead to a W, by Luis McDowell and Douglas Wheeler, these boys just showed up to do work. This might have been their biggest challenge for their conference games until the CC game. The Minnesota team has a coach who has proven himself recently in other worlds and I think the B1G has been put on notice by his performances this season.
Texas Tech managed to beat a human coached team today, this was expected but still a surprise as this is the first year for the coach. Look at that, the Cornhuskers ran the ball all the way to a win. This is the type of football that the farmers in Nebraska love. Myself I love throwing the ball more than just running right, running left, running up the middle. We need to update the playbook a bit. Houston had a good day on defense today, 2 picks, 4 plays defended and 5 tackles by a single DB.
Arkansas almost beat LSU who beat Alabama, so what does that mean? Absolutely nothing, but I just wanted to throw that in there.
Super Mario did his thing today. 74% completion rate, think about that, 74%. That is a good day if I have ever seen one.
Bill had an okay day, only 52% completion, that is not what you want from a Heisman winner. He will need to step it up in the next game.
The 'Cuse will have a shot at Jeremy next. He had a bad day against Rutgers and that was a blueprint for how to get the job done against him. Jeremy will need to have a great day to remain on the list and maybe move up the list too.
Troy State is holding it down with Wayne Roberts on the list. There is a need to have the other non BCS schools to try and schedule more humans so that their guys end on the list as well. For the next awards there will be no commentary, you can not say anything about them, they are self explanatory today.
There will be some commentary in the future but did not feel like saying anything today. Until the next time, take it easy.
