Week 8 Awards
I think arcadecowboy summed it up best, "Was another crazy day in Wilk". He is absolutely correct everyday in Wilk is crazy. That is the beauty of Wilk, there is no other world like it. You have upsets left right and center. You also have great games all over the place. There are no days off and with that in mind we have another edition of the awards. We will get to them soon enough, you have to sit through my rumblings. Rumblings do not take any time off either. Florida State is back to 500, it seems the slump is over for them. I know that might be much with only a three game winning streak but this is Wilk so take ti for what it is. Big XII North slayed today. Colorado and Nebraska gave it to Texas and Oklahoma respectively. The Huskers are looking like they made the right decision and questions are now being asked in Austin, the alumni are not too happy with losing to Colorado and not being in the running for the NC title. Another team in the Big East broke that egg in the loss column, West Virginia spoils again. DePaul were looking nice but the NC berth might be out of the question, they are going to turn attentions to the CC and maybe they can get back in the running. I will not speak on the Irish but who saw the Penn State loss to the Gophers? Not me. Central Michigan and Bowling Green is one to keep an eye out for in week 9. awags seems to have had an answer for treyomo this season, he is usually is stumbling block. Florida only wins by 7 and LSU only wins by two points, the SEC might be the toughest conference to get through. Troy State rolls Army today and they are now setting their eyes on the NC berth and dare I say win. Okay lets get to the awards.
I think at this time everyone knows how to get one of these awards, you slay and you win the award, so no surprise the Colorado boy won. 5 tackles with 5 sacks, that is an impressive day at work. We should all be familiar with Jerome now.
With their win against the Nittany Lions Minnesota are represented on both sides of the ball. FSU also had the best players in the ACC. Jeremy Harrington was very good in the second half of his game today against DePaul.
The elite slayers are represented in the Big XII. I think we can all admit that USC is just going to run away with the PAC-10 with their only speed bump being Stanford with their new coach. I want to see Jerome Bean go up against Kevin Street, both young man know how to get the job done. There is no Troy representation and that is a surprise as they have bee rolling all season long.
At this time we should all be very familiar with this list so I will not be doing too much commentary on them today.
Now let us have a look at the position awards.
And there we go, that is you update and until the next time, take it easy.
