QB Maze

We have had enough games to start looking at some numbers. The first numbers we are going to look at are for the QBs. We are just going to look at the top 25 QBs according to WIS. Now some of you will say nah, that is wrong. I know every coach believes their QB is the best out there, but numbers do not lie. We are going to look at a few things and hopefully we get a good picture of what is going on.

The first thing we should look at is the passer rating. Gives us a good idea of which school has the stud QB on the field.

It is no surprise that awags has the best QB on the field, according to the passer ratings. This makes sense as you want your QB to be a good passer to begin with. We also have some good programs on the sharp end of the ratings. We have, ez37, Pete, z32, and this should not surprise anyone, these guys know how to use their QBs. Well I should say they are more efficient with their QBs. I love this list because we have all levels of schools represented on the list. We have elites, BSC, mid major schools doing their thing.

For the TD count, we have a clear team who is doing it well. The Trojans have their QB chucking the ball into the endzone. Not sure if they are doing it on the ground as well. Looking at this list, I want to see a matchup between Oklahoma and Syracuse, on the field. These coaches play well and I want to see them duke it out. Both coaches are great and seeing the best go at it is always fun and in Wilk there are so many great coaches and I want to see them play each other more. Now these numbers would make more sense if looked at the count of TDs when they played human coached teams.

If you are able to put up yardage numbers, you are likely to be winning games in my book. Yardage means moving the ball and you move the ball towards and into the endzone. So who has been moving the ball?

The defending champ is moving the rock, and he is dong it with his QB. ebel and cebrake are coming for that top spot. This should not surprise anyone as these coaches enjoying throwing the ball a lot. awags is there too but there are people ahead of him and that took me for a surprise a bit.

Now if you are completing your passes it means you are moving the ball and Pete and his Hawaii team know how to move the ball down the field. blitziscomin is also completing them passes and with that in mind maybe we should go back and read through his Maze articles because he seems to know what he is doing. As expected awags is sniffing around the sharp end of the list. ebel is at the bottom of the list for completions? I did not expect to see that, has ebel developed a run game which is allowing him to win games? ebel has there been a change in philosophy? Let the Maze know.

I hope everyone enjoys the little Maze run we just had. Did not want to make it too long, I hope coaches see this and take a look at their own teams and see what they might need to improve on. So we will keep this short, unitl the next time, take it easy.
