B.A Winners Maze

At the end of most competitions you have winners and losers. The winners get awards for winning. Sometimes their peers say you guys were just the best of the best throughout the season and they get an extra award. Well that is what we have here. We have multiple winners across the world as voted by you the people. Sometimes the people get it wrong and sometimes they get it right. We will keep giving them the chance to get it. We are going to look at the winners on this Maze run.

Offensive Coaches of the Year

Division 2 had a clear winner in the voting and it was Henderson State under the reign of bigkeithdog. He managed to lead his team to a conference title and made the playoffs. In the regular season he put on a beating on the human coaches he faced. There were some close game, close as in within 14 points. They put up yards both in the air and on the ground and at the end of their season they were averaging 49 points per game.

William & Mary under dukelegend got all the votes. That surprised me a bit, there were great nominees in there and they still managed to get all the votes. During the regular season when facing human coaches the closest game was a 4 point win. They played a human packed OOC and a few more humans during the season. They also managed to get themselves some hardware in the form of a CC. The team mostly threw that ball and I know it is only two coaches thus far but I sense a trend and it says throw the ball which is something we already knew.

The voters could not make their minds up and separate out 3 coaches, so they are going to show the award. There were 4 nominees so I guess they made their pick and it was not to give it to Penn State. The voters said Penn State is not good enough offensively this year in comparison to these 3. The 3 winners are :

Cal under cebrake

Alabama under awags

Oklahoma under blitziscomin.

All 3 are great coaches and they had awesome offenses. awags played he other 2 coaches and he went 1-1. Won against cebrake by 4 points and lost to blitziscomin by 28 points. He managed to win himself hardware as did cebrake and his Cal team. Blitziscomin lost his CC gave and gave us a look into what happened. cebrake came back from the wilderness and took over a team that was loaded and he managed to get them going in the right direction. Everyone knows cebrake can get the job done, I wonder if he will stick around for long to shape the team as he wants it for himself.

Defensive Coaches of the Year

Michigan in real life is kept in games I think and the Wilk voters think the Wolverines have the best defensive coach in D-1A. It was him and Cal and the people said we will go with the Wolverines. They had a great regular season until the conference title game were things went sideways. The defense on that day said we are not going to play at all and they up yards through the air. Penn State managed to put up more passing yards than the total number of yards Michigan could put in total. This was all done whilst keeping the completion percentage for the QBs below 50%. Might have just bee big plays that cost them. But the award is for the regular season and then they had an awesome thing going.

There was no separating Texas Southern and Eastern Kentucky. The people said vikesrule69 and sooner_81 built awesome defenses we could not separate. Texas Southern is rolling this year and they have been for a while. They played a few tough programs during the regular season and they came out on top. They held prominent coaches to low points totals, the coach knows how to get boys fired up on defense. Eastern Kentucky played tough games and won those games with their defense showing up and keeping them in games and allowing the offense to go ahead and stand on their shoulders get the glory.

I am happy that Colorado-Mines won this because they are located in Colorado. The state that allows people to smoke that sticky icky icky. That chronic, whatever you want to call it. With that in mind I am surprised that students even got on the field and did their jobs as defensive players. Doing anything meaningful can be tough whilst under the influence, so I have to give it up to the coach for keeping the boys focused on playing defense. The pressure is now on the offensive boys to also show up and start producing by putting up points.

Most Improved Coaches of the Year

If you have a tough season one year and then you come back and win the CC the next year, I think it is safe to say you have improved. Let alone do it in a power conference against elites with elite coaches. You become only the third coach to win the CC in the history for the school program. Hypnotoad managed to stop blitziscomin who was looking at going to the NC game. The pressure is own now for more similar results for hypnotoad.

The people spoke and they said at the D-1AA level the most improved coach is panthsho with his Grambling State program. His program went from 8-5 to 11-4, not a bad improvement. The improvement was enough to make it back into the playoffs. Now it is time for him to maintain this level for his program. We do not want to see him back in this category, we expect him in the other categories mentioned already.

Votes were evenly split between Findlay under tv31557 and Kentucky State under starfinder77. The people have spoken and they said the two coaches equally improved. They could not separate the two and who I am to disagree with the people. If you disagree with the result of the vote you had a chance to affect the outcome. There were not a lot of votes this year, hopefully it was just a down year. Some will complain about the nominees, well I say there was a call for committee volunteers and they were not coming at me left right and center. The volunteers on the committee looked at things and said these are the guys we think improved at this level.

Newcomer Coaches of the Year

Lehigh with sgawrys was the only team to look at in D-1AA and so that was a no brainer. He had an excellent record that you can all go take a look for yourself. I hope he maintains his awesomeness next season or maybe he moves up to D-1A and remains the best newcomer. The man, the myth, the legend, miami_jefe won the award for D-2. I wonder if he is working his way to D-1A, were I think everyone wants him to play so that he can teach them a lesson on how it's done.

badaxe and cebrake are not newcomers to the world or the game but they are newcomers at their teams and thus they were nominated and they will be sharing the award for this season. They both had excellent seasons, better than most expected them to have. badaxe with his FSU team did what some thought was impossible, he took them to a CC game in his first year. I think that just shows you that gameplanning is very important on top of getting talent to help you win games.

We have had some good post season games across the level and hopefully we have some good title games as well. Until the next time, take it easy.
