Jabbering JAG 131.7 (DIA Surprise)
Today huskerfan and I decided to switch roles for a day. So today I'm treating all of the DIA guys to my style of writing and doing predictions for them today. Right now it looks like a 3, maybe 4, team race for the national title. I'm sure things for DIA will be exciting down to the end. The SEC is the OVC of DIA as they are miles ahead of the second ranked conference and that is because they have six ranked teams.
Without further ado...
ACC
Boston College @ Clemson - First year head coach tv31557 has had a respectable season. The Tigers have competed against some tough teams and held their own, not to mention they stunned the world when they upset Miami. BC and laswell have been together for over 3 decades now and would really like to bring another CC to Boston and a win in this game seals the division title for the Eagles. This game should be competitive the whole way and I am taking BC 31-21
#11 Virginia Tech @ Duke - Two solid coaches meet in this game. cjsweat has done a nice job with the Hokies over his two seasons. Tampafla has done a solid job with the Blue Devils but hasn't really gotten over the hump yet. A win over a ranked team could really help build momentum for them before the Miami game. There will be plenty of passing yards in this affair and I think this game could be very entertaining but I am going with VT 35-31
Big 12
#1 Oklahoma vs #18 Texas A&M - Two Big 12 South rivals do battle here. The defending national champs look poised to repeat again this season but they still have some tough tests to get through. A&M is one of those tests, a tough win for any team. The Aggies will have to try to rebound after a heartbreaking loss to Texas. OU has the division locked up either way so now every game is for a chance at another NC. Huskerfan always plays teams tough but this is a steep task and I am taking the Sooners 31-23
#21 Colorado @ Kansas State - The Big 12 North really only has one contender this season and it is Colorado and coach lyonzfan. Nebraska and Missouri being a bit down this season and KSU still trying to rebuild. Coach dozeone had done really well with Memphis but hasn't been able to get Kansas State rolling yet. Another losing season for the Wildcats could spell trouble. The Buffs come in having played a top 25 ranked SOS and have already locked up the division. Too much firepower on one side of the ball in this game and I am picking Colorado 35-20
Big East
Rutgers vs Temple - Talk about tight, things in the Big East East division are tighter than a thong on a sumo wrestler. With every team in this conference being human coached, you really have to bring your "A" game day in and day out. Fermor, the lifelong Big East coach would really like to get back into the conference title game and a win over the current division leader would really help. Coach allen129 would love to make a statement in his first year in the conference. With another human coach on tap for both of these teams to close out the season, a loss here probably means no CC game. I'm going with the Owls 31-28
#22 West Virginia @ #24 Pittsburgh - With the other division on lock we look at the two time defending Big East champs, who find themselves right in the thick of things, doing battle with a rebuilding WVU team. WVU has played an absolute gauntlet so far this season and it's not every day you see a team barely over .500 ranked in Wilkinson. The Mountaineers will need their "tough game" experience to carry them in these last two games this season. With both of these teams currently one game back for the division a loss here locks them out of CC contention. I'm choosing Pitt to win 31-23
Big Ten
#2 Michigan @ Minnesota - This will be the 11th meeting between these two coaches and nortonis has taken 7 of the games against kensei44. A win for Michigan clenches the division and for MN it gives them the "lead" but they still have a tough game against Wisconsin to close out the season. Michigan has put up eyepopping statistics all season long but could they be overlooking the Gophers? Minnesota has lost to the only three humans that they have played this season and I don't see that trend changing here. Give me the Wolverines 38-14
#7 Ohio State @ #19 Penn State - The three elites in this division are deadlocked. If OSU wins they go to the CC game. If PSU wins then ND goes. PSU will look to rebound after today's loss to ND but they play another extremely tough team/coach here. Ohio State has had to play 8 humans so far this season, whereas PSU has only played 4. Tkechub is a solid coach with great talent and he will need to pull out all of the stops here if he hopes to win against a great coach who has done well in just two seasons with his new team. I'm taking OSU 33-24
CUSA
#14 Memphis vs East Carolina - The CUSA North division is still very much up for grabs. A win for Memphis puts them into the CC. A win for ECU could make things extremely interesting as they would also then have to beat Central Florida to make the CC game. Memphis is the defending champs and it doesn't look like they're ready to give up the crown just yet. Coach b1297 has yet to defeat badaxe and they have met three times previously. Mid-major games in Wilkinson, like real life, can be extremely entertaining and I don't expect this one to disappoint. I'm taking the Tigers 33-21
Alabama Birmingham vs Houston - Houston has already sealed up the division but after two straight top 10 finishes, the Cougars would like to finish the season in respectable fashion. UAB has lost to just about every human they have played so far this season so things don't look too promising, but Houston has looked very inconsistent and struggled even against sims so "David" could defeat "Goliath" if the cards are dealt correctly. I think things could be close for a while in this one but I expect Houston to pull away 35-17
MAC
#10 Buffalo vs Eastern Michigan - Buffalo and coach dapope21 come in as the world's highest ranked mid major this season and vying for a shot at a level 5 bowl game. EMU and coach munchuchos are hoping for a CC and with that a level 4 bowl. These two teams are the only two undefeated teams in conference play and this game is pretty much a winner take all for not only the division title but a very good possibility for the conference title as well. Both teams have played lower ranked SOS but both have played plenty of human competition to be ready for this game. I think this game might end up a bit closer than it look on paper but I'm still going with Buffalo 30-27
Pac-10
Arizona vs UCLA - This game is the only game from this conference today, which is a bit surprising considering there are seven coaches in the conference. Neither of these teams can make the CC at this point as they both have lost to USC, however, bowl games are on the line for both of them. Both teams should get a bowl game regardless of the outcome here but a win could propel them to the next level. These two coaches know one another very well as this will be the 8th meeting with knightsaynih holding a 4-3 edge over awaskow. I'm going with the Bruins 28-24
SEC
#4 LSU vs #16 Alabama - A lot is at stake for one team, the other team is just hoping to get a solid bowl game. LSU has an outside shot at making the national title game and they already have punched their ticket to the CC game (more than likely). LSU has overcome 4 ranked opponents this season. Bama comes in fresh off a surprising loss to Ole Miss. These offensive minded teams will do all they can to out shoot the other team and this should be a fun game between two real life rival, elite teams. I'm taking LSU 35-30
#12 Florida vs #25 Georgia - The SEC will not be represented by either of these teams in the CC game but this game, like so many others, has bowl game implications. Both of these coaches have done a nice job with their respective teams and would like to make a nice statement here at the end of the regular season. Both teams didn't pull may punches this season as both have played pretty solid SOS and both have wins vs top 25 squads this season. The big difference in this game is the coach head to head matchup and taking that into consideration I'm picking the Gators 33-20
Sun Belt
NO HUMAN v HUMAN games
WAC
#23 Utah vs Wyoming - A second year coach and defending conference champions take on a Wyoming team who hasn't found any footing this season. The Utes are the only ranked team from the WAC but also have one of the worst SOS in the entire world. This game doesn't really have any post-season/CC implications but Wyoming would love to pull off a shocking win and dash Utah's hopes at an undefeated regular season. Utah wins this one handily 38-14
