Coach Jeff's Office - Coaching Carousel Day 1

Hello and welcome to the 2nd edition of Coach Jeff's Office! It was a very eventful first day in the Wilkinson coaching carousel. With multiple elite D2 programs having coaching changes and several others open, there is plenty of action to discuss. So let's jump right in!

Notable hires

Slippery Rock - The most notable day 1 D2 hire was the return of legendary coach nelsonba25. Nelson has a combined 70 national championships across the worlds and he takes control of one of D2's top programs. It's hard to know what to expect from him, but it will be interesting to see.

West Liberty State - The 2nd best program with a new coach is West Liberty State. They hired rs78rs78, who went 35-2 over the last two seasons at Washington & Lee at D3. At W&L, rs employed a balanced attack from pro-set and trips. This team is built to run a pro-set, which appears to mesh with rs' style.

Lock Haven - Lock Haven hired chrondon84 (of "The Coffee and Chronic Hour" show fame). Chrondon went 26-5 in two season at Wilmington College at the D3 level and has 11 CCs and a NC in across all worlds. Chrondon LOVES to run the ball. At Wilmington, he employed his running game out of trips. It will be interesting to see if uses pro-set or trips at Lock Haven, but you can bet he will be running and running often.

Livingstone College - Livingstone hired jddriscoll, who spent the last 8 seasons at the University of Chicago winning 98 games. It appears that this will be jd's first time to play above division 3. He inherits a solid roster set up to run pro-set.

Bentley College - Bentley just hired the infamous reigny. Reigny is arguably the worst coach in the history of GD (feel free to look at his career in Wilk to see for yourself). Intelligent coaches have opined that he is a GD staffer that is doing testing on the different parts of the game. It's impossible to know if that's true or what reigny will do at Bentley, but it will undoubtedly be interesting.

Premium available jobs

Henderson State - Henderson St has been a top team in Wilkinson D2 for quite a while, winning 2 of the last 3 GSC championships. Henderson was also the #3 guess ranked roster last season. They are built to run the I-Form.

Northwood - As discussed yesterday, Philfulmer84 discussed moving up. Now he did move up. This was the #6 ranked guess roster in 129 and can run pro-set or trips. Someone grab these guys!!
