Week 7 Awards

How does Maryland only win by 3 against a Sim AI coached team. They were losing at the half, so job well done on the comeback. FSU with their losing record are ranked for week 7 after their win against Miami(FL), that is smart scheduling right there. His SOS is now helping him. The Sooners bounced back with a win after the shock loss to Mizzou. I know it was against a Sim AI, we would not have known the effect of the loss. The Tigers might be for real, they just took the Aggies to task. Be on the lookout for the Tigers, their new coach might be trying to show the Vols that they made a mistake in letting him go, though the Vols are not looking back with their new coach. And Temple falls to Marquette, not sure if anyone saw that coming except Marquette themselves. The Big East is an interesting conference, teams beat each other up and knock each other out of the running for the NC. What is going on with the Irish? They will have a losing record come the end of the season from the looks of things. The coach does seem to go through these seasonal cycles, of winning and then losing. He knows how to keep his job though, so should not worry too much. Is this the year for Ohio State? They have been under-performing in my opinion for a while now but they are doing well thus far. Memphis continues the winning ways of the current Huskers coach. Ohio University keeps rolling, the coach has promised a 13-1 season, and they are still on track. Enough of that, let us get to the awards.

We had a few interesting games as mentioned above and I do not think anybody saw these players winning the players of the week awards.

Wayne did his work against a team that has been on a winning run, I know they only played mostly Sim AI teams but Wayne still did his thing. Bill Moore was not expected to win the award, he was going up against a very potent offense but I guess he was fired up today as they have lost to UCLA before and he hated the taste of that. I wonder if Bill will keep this level of play up.

Ohio State players ruled the conference in week 7 and will that continue? It is about time as mentioned before, Ohio State needs to be challenging every season and they have not done so in a while. Gregory will be trying to lead his team to a winning record for this season and maybe some silverware as well.

DL and RBs are just out here performing at a level above the other players. I have heard that you should never battle for lineman but from looking at these awards, you might need to do so. Them boys in the trenches are the ones that win you the game, they keep the franchise player safe and they also go after the franchise player. You need to win the line to have a good game.

These names should be very familiar to everyone now and the only question is were are they in the rankings.

West Virginia usually has a tough OOC but when it comes to conference play they always throw their weight around well. With that in mind Jeremy should be in the running for the award until the end of the season.

As a QB there are a few coaches you would want to play for and awags is definitely up there on that list. He always has a pipeline of QBs and this is the latest QB off that line.

Super Mario and his team had a scare today but they managed to pull out the win. Super Mario was not too super today, only completing 50%, that is not good enough in the Big East. Step it up Mario if you want to move up the rankings.

Aaron had a decent game out of the backfield but it was against Oregon so that does not mean much.

Rough day for Temple today and Bill Howard's play did not really help their cause. He only completed 53% which is lower than the season 58% completion rate. If he wants to carry the team to the promised land Bill will have to step it up.

Troy State is doing everything they can to get their guy to New York for the awards this season. I think they will be able to do so but playing a lot of Sim AI team will not reflect well on him. I am in his corner to make it to New York.

Let us look at the position awards a bit. The defensive guys are screaming we can not make the Heisman list so show us some love in our position awards.

I like the school representation on this list. It does not matter what school you go to, all you have to do is produce and everything will fall into place.

We have Sim AI team represented on lists also. Seems like there is no discrimination in Wilk and that is good to know.

The list is mostly offensive players but we have two defensive guys representing and look at that, they are both from mid major schools.

Only a single Houston wide out on the list, which is surprising considering they run shotgun. There are two guys from South Florida, they are spreading the ball a bit. I wonder who is more of a diva between the two of them.

There are a few coaches on here who know what to do with a QB more than the average.

So much is expected of the RBs, you have to run the ball, catch the ball and also block. That is a lot of work and these guys deserve some recognition and extra love. It now makes sense why coaches go balls to the wall for RBs.

Similar to the RBs these guys have multiple jobs on the team. You have to be able to catch and block at the same time. That is a lot of work for guys. They are a key position as they are found in every formation and people tend to overlook them a bit , but not at the Maze.

I hope everyone finishes their intra conference play well. Until the next time, take it easy.
