Triple Delight

We have the first official rankings of the season and as expected the Sooners are sitting at the top of the hill. They have gone through a few tough games and come out smelling like a million bucks. Who saw Temple up there this season? It is still early because they have a rough conference schedule and the same is true for Rutgers. I expect the Big East schools to fall back a bit in the rankings which will open the door for Alabama to get back in the running. They were somewhat exposed by the Sooners in their matchup today. Enough of that.

Wilkinson National Players of the Week

Week 4

Temple has had a great start to the season and with this fella under center they can make some noise this season. The true test will come once conference plays starts as mentioned earlier.

Conference Players of the Week

Michael Heath shows up on one of these lists again. This young man seems to know how to get it done. I wonder if he will be able to survive the entire season, because running the ball that much will take its toll on anybody.

They say defense wins championships and the Sooner defense is looking very good. The coach did warn us about a new defense he had been working on and I think he has unleashed it on the GD community. Florida had a nice comeback win today against the Cuse and they can thank William Crawford for being in beast mode today. James Roe will be going up against the Golden Bears and if he brings his skills like he did today then it might be a good day for Hawaii.

We have our second list for the watch. This should be a good one. I wonder who fell out and who is in.

These first two names should seem familiar, they were in the first list. I think they might carry USC to the NC game. Though they have a new regime at Stanford who seems to be good.

I want to see what Jeremy can do against that Arkansas team, they are undefeated and have just been doing their thing for the last few seasons. This might be their time.

Ralph should put up numbers in his next game and that should help him with his quest for a Heisman Trophy.

The Sooners had Jerome's number today as we have talked about already but a 36% completion rate might look bad at the end of the season when we get the winner for the award.

These guys are looking at Jerome and saying we are coming for you homeboy.

We have more awards to look at and the lists of the guys who are looking good for them at this point in time.

No surprise there, the USC boys are on this list. They have been producing thus far. Troy State with their studly coach are represented on the list. The Houston QB will always be in the running because of the offense they run there.

I am surprised that there is only one Sooner on the list. blitziscomin is known for his defensive schemes, you an find some of his players on the all time lists for sack and picks. I bet as the season goes on a few more Sooners will show up. I am happy to see a few mid majors represented on this list.

What are the Houston WRs doing? Come on TD, get them boys the ball and populate the list. If you need help ask ebel how it's done. He has two guys on the list and I am sure by the end of the season there might be a few more.

Tight ends are sometimes overlooked in the game as being part of the offense unless you run the NDB. ebel has figured out a way to include his TE in the gameplan. I see TD has figured that part out too.

If you have the WRs and TEs working why not make it a trifecta and add the RBs in the offensive gameplan. We have everyone represented, BCS, elites, and mid majors. Everyone across the levels likes involving their RBs which should not be too difficult as most teams run Pro Set.

Having DBs can mean a few extra points for you. They tend to get most of the picks in games. So you want to make sure you have a few good guys in the secondary. This should make chrondon happy, there are no elites on the list, well at least thus far this season.

The list of the best QBs thus far is very similar to the rankings. This will change obviously as the season progresses. I wonder how much correlation there is between the rankings and this list.

Okay that should be enough of that. I bet you have more important things to worry about, no wait, you are reading a fake blog about a fake football game. You do not have much to do but I am tired so will end here. Until the next time, take it easy
