The Final Four

All I have to say is thank goodness that I predict WIS games way better than I predict games for March Madness. Now I still wouldn't have a perfect bracket in Wilkinson but it would have been pretty darn close. What a fun playoff we have had this season. Even though a couple of sims made the playoffs there have been some awesome games, a few surprises and definitely some heartbreaks. Lets take a closer look at our final four games.

N - #1 Arkansas Pine Bluff vs S - #21 Texas State:

The Numbers:

Record: APB - 17-0 vs TSU - 14-3

Offense Rank: APB - #1 (64.4 ppg) vs TSU - #12 (52.9 ppg)

Defense Rank: APB - #20 (18.9 ppg) vs TSU - #N/A (22.8 ppg)

The Stats:

Team Head to Head: TSU (5-1) APB

Coach Head to Head: nitros (1-1) phimutau

The Game:

Well we have a dandy here. Two of the most well known and respected coaches if not in Wilkinson as a whole, definitely Wilkinson DIAA. These two coaches know how to put studly teams together and they have done that again here. This game won't be decided by coaching I don't think, both guys know what they're doing. What will be the difference here is talent. Texas State has solid guys but behind their stud vets is a boat load of whale shit (that's underclassmen to my head baseball coach in college). That being said all of that whale crap has produced well so far and found a way to get the Bobcats into the final four. APB on the other hand has a nice balance of the classes for most positions. These offenses like to air it out and seem to move the ball easily most of the time, these defenses who have given up some points to the opposition will need to be at the top of their game if they hope to outlast their opponent.

The Prediction:

I really hate that I have to pick a winner here. I have the utmost respect for both of these guys but alas, there can only be one winner. APB 41-31

E - #3 Northern Iowa vs W - #10 Samford:

The Numbers:

Record: UNI - 17-0 vs SAM - 16-1

Offense Rank: UNI - #3 (62.2 ppg) vs SAM - #5 (59.7 ppg)

Defense Rank: UNI - #3 (12.2 ppg) vs SAM - #1 (9.9 ppg)

The Stats:

Team Head to Head: SAM (3-2) UNI

Coach Head to Head: jddriscoll (1-1) mraston

The Game:

The defending champs taking on a team who has finally reached the milestone they have been longing for for quite a while. These two teams are putting up fantastic numbers all season on both sides of the ball. These two squads, like most, like to air it out most of the time but as soon as they get you on your heels they will bust off an impressive rushing attack. They're pretty balanced offenses by WIS standards and that balance will be key in trying to get these top 10 ranked defenses second guessing and missing assignments. Both teams have a pretty good balance of underclassmen and upperclassmen across the board, with an exception here or there that the opposition will be looking to exploit. This game really looks to be extremely close on paper, this game will be decided by coaching... or the engine. Not that either of these coaches is better than the other, just which one will outsmart the other.

The Prediction:

Like I said for the other game, I respect both of these coaches and know what they can do when they get their hands on a good squad. This one is like splitting hairs to find a difference. UNI 30-28
