Jabbering JAG 132.2 (OOC Midpoint)

Happy Memorial Day everyone! Let's take some time to recall some of the great history in Wilkinson (I know that isn't what today is really about). Remember pete's 11 straight and 12 of 13 national titles. How about in season 117 when someone besides the OVC actually won a national title after they rattled off 18 straight! How about the time when cj stayed with a team longer than 5 seasons. What about the times when the Ivy and PFL were the "conferences to beat." Or how about the fact that when this all started it was just cjsweat's show and nothing else. Some of that seems like a lifetime ago.

We are off to a rip roaring start so far this season. I decided with the long weekend to give you all something to look over but can't take too long as we have to make sure the grill doesn't catch fire… oops mine did that yesterday #fail.

Maine vs Northern Iowa - Both teams are preparing for their second human opponents of the season. Maine has looked very strong so far and UNI has as well, they are very close to being an undefeated team. This game could come down to turnovers, UNI hasn't forced a single one this season and Maine has 7 in three games. UM 31-21

William & Mary vs St. Mary's - Both teams are fresh off tough games. One team managed a win, the other came up on the losing side and will be looking to rebound. Neither defense looks stifling in this one but with how many points these offenses it usually doesn't matter. WMU 31-23

Stephen F. Austin vs Tennessee Martin - Two teams who have become very good stories in Wilkinson meet in this game. SFA has only played humans so far and is coming off their first loss. UTM just played their first human and also picked up their first loss. Both teams tried to mount comebacks in the loss but were unable to finish the job. UTM 30-27

Northern Arizona vs Norfolk State - NAU looks to have finally figured out their offense as they prepare for their first human opponent. Norfolk looks to maybe still be struggling but would love to prove to the world that they're making strides in the right direction. If you like passing offenses you're going to see plenty of that on display. NAU 35-20

Savannah State vs Portland State - PSU comes in undefeated on the season and looking like a good team. SSU is coming off a disappointing loss where they were shutout. Both teams usually have pretty stout defenses and differing offensive styles so that should make things interesting. PSU 28-24

Youngstown State vs Northwestern State - These are two of the toughest teams for me to predict as I never can tell if they're going to pull out the W or not. These coaches know each other very well as this is the 16th meeting. Both teams have a loss on the season, every win is crucial in this world. YSU 30-21

Florida A&M vs San Diego - FAMU is playing their second human opponent this season and looking to get a W in the column vs a human. USD is playing just their first human after rolling sims so far. This game will be a good test for the legitimacy of both teams. SD 34-17

East Tennessee State vs Howard - The wishbone takes on a team who is off to a very rough start through a very rough schedule. Both teams have some pretty big losses and they really need to right the ship and right it quickly. ETSU 31-17

Lehigh vs Grambling State - A couple of 2-1 teams here, one with a new coach and the other with the most tenured coach in Wilkinson. Both teams were competitive in their losses and I don't expect them to let off the gas in this game. This game looks like it could be a defensive grind. UL 27-23

Jacksonville State vs Western Carolina - Two undefeated squads do battle here. The difference, one has gone through only humans, the other has only played sims. Both of these teams are historically very tough outs. JSU wants to keep rolling and WCU wants to prove they are a formidable team again this season. JSU 35-23

Texas Southern vs Marist - The two time champs who are continuing to roll meet up against a Marist squad who is trying to return to national supremacy. Both of these coaches are fantastic and will be bringing out all of the stops to get this win. Surprisingly these two coaches have never played one another before. TSU 33-23

Georgia Southern vs Drake - Two "surprise" undefeated teams featured here. Drake is talented but with some sims on the roster and a new coach there were a lot of questions. GSU has been rapidly rose to a strong contender in just 3 years under their current coach. Two pass heavy and high scoring offenses are featured here. Drake 38-33
