Jabbering JAG 127.7

DIA:

My surprise teams:

- California: We knew jasonfreeman could coach but having this team undefeated and sitting at #1, no one saw that coming. There still are some very tough games ahead of this squad but they have a legitimate chance to win all and go undefeated.

- Rutgers: Is there anything vhoward can't do? First year with a new team, a team that has a full class of simAI recruits and the Scarlet Knights are undefeated and sitting pretty in the title chase. Still plenty left to prove for this team.

- Duke: Another first year coach who has made a lot of noise. This roster has NO sophmores so this team only has one human recruited class, yet they have found ways to win all but one of their contests and climb into the top 25.

My disappointment teams:

- Texas: This one is pretty obvious, a team who was in the middle of a dynasty a couple of seasons ago isn't even in the top 25 this season. Two losses, and a weaker SOS have the Longhorns looking at a level 2-3 bowl.

- LSU: Just when everyone thought the Tigers were back, they go and have a mediocre season. Currently barely above .500 but still very much alive at a chance to make the CC game.

- Maryland: A very tenured coach at the helm but the Terps might have bitten off more than they could chew. Maryland is on the verge of having their first losing season since season 109.

DIAA:

My surprise teams:

- Montana State: We know Montana St. had very good defenses and that would keep them in games but a team with only one loss and it was a 3 pt loss to current #2 team on the road.

- Alabama A&M: A team that has been a tough one for quite some time but have been kind of a "back burner" squad in recent seasons. Having their best season since 122.

- Yale: Finally back on the national stage! Yale has been slipping for a while but an undefeated start makes them appear to be back, at least a little. They still have their tougher tests coming up but have a good shot to go undefeated.

My disappointment teams:

- Maine: A team who had really been rocking and rolling the last couple of seasons has disintegrated. They're a very young team and expect these results to be very temporary.

- Duquesne: Under the direction of a first year coach but a talented squad who hasn't lived up to potential. MEAC champs 5 of the last 6 seasons but may not even make playoffs this season.
